I’m a certified driving instructor, and I’ve spent a lot of years watching how people actually behave on Toronto roads and a lot of hours in the passenger seat with learners who were more nervous than they needed to be.

I’m a certified driving instructor, and I’ve spent years teaching people how to drive on Toronto’s roads. I’ve sat beside nervous students, watched people overthink simple things, and seen how much easier driving becomes when someone actually takes the time to teach you properly. Rydbie started because I kept seeing the same problems. Students would tell me they had called different schools, waited for someone to call them back, or had no idea who they were going to get as an instructor. I remember thinking, why does booking a driving lesson have to be this complicated? So I built Rydbie around a simple idea. You should be able to see who you’re booking with, choose your instructor, know the price upfront, and book your lesson without having to make five phone calls. I still teach. I built the website, I run the ads, and I answer the emails. If something goes wrong with your booking, you can reach me. You’re not just another booking number.

What I kept seeing was the same thing: schools that assign you whoever is free, quote a price over the phone, and leave you guessing. So Rydbie does the opposite. You see the instructors, you pick one, the price is on the page, and you book it without phoning anybody.

I still teach, but Rydbie has grown into a team. We have real people behind the bookings, emails, instructors, and day-to-day support. If something goes wrong, you’re talking to someone who can actually help, not a call centre.
